Tegiwa intake

Does anyone have a Tegiwa intake on their FN2? Or know of anyone with one? Would like to get some opinions on it!

Thanks

In summary

  • Copy of the Mugen.
  • Not quite as well made as the Mugen, but you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference unless they were side by side.
  • Really needs to be mated to a decent cold air tract, like the Tegiwa one but that means removing the fogs, or the Driven Crazy scoop which doesn't need the fogs removing.
  • One of the best performing intakes on the market.
  • Uses a K&N panel filter, so re-useable/cleanable filter.
  • Only real downside is it isn't as loud as some intakes, if you are after that sort of thing. If you have an aftermarket exhaust, the exhaust would drown out most of the intake noise.
If it wasn't for the intake noise I'd have one on mine.

I've got the HKS, I think it's cracking for the money. I've done the whole heatshield and cold air feed to it though.

Mugen/Tegiwa is a better intake to be honest.

Was considering the Tegiwa as well on my FN2.

Eurospec in Guildford are selling and fitting the Injen CAI kits, used to have one on my old EP3, loved it. They say the dyno results are good and the kit sounds awesome.

The latest version of the Injen is pretty good from what I've seen. Nice roar to it too.

That sounds like a good option

tempted by the Tegiwa. May sell my HKS Loxy. Not feeling the intake noise.

How can you not like this?

That was before any of the different cams were fitted and yes the image is lousy, but the sound is spot on.

Aye the HKS, all the bonnet sound proofing was on, still is though I'm thinking of taking it off as it is rubbing on the J's brace.

Cheers Loxy and Devil

No probs mate, I just got my FN2 a couple weeks ago, and loving it coming from an EP3. This FN2 was already highly modded, so sorting out the basics first. Ie door check strap is fooked! Then comtemplate whether to get rid of the HKS.

I'm currently running a injen long ram CAI in my ep3 it's mentalist really loud and makes a cool sound when you turn of the engine but have suffered from some hydro lock due to some of the places i have taken it so I'm waiting for the tegiwa carbon box kit to come next week , just wondering what comes in the kit or do you need to buy extra parts to install it proper . Also has anyone any info about scuttle panel modification or point me in the right direction ?

The EP3 kit is completely different to the FN2 one.

This thread has info on modding the scuttle: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/s...e-to-the-Gruppe-M-please-read-before-posting!

There have been reports of the kits coming with bits missing, best to check when it arrives. This is also a good thread on it: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?73459-Tegiwa-ep3-airbox-instructions
