Tegiwa Underdrive pulley?

I've just come across, the tegiwa Underdrive pulley for k20 engines. I've had a google and a bit of a search into them but I can't find anything of much use so far.

Has as anybody fitted one of these? Heard of people fitting them?

Seems a bold claim of 5-7bhp.

I saw this last night. To be honest I can't see a pulley reducing parasitic losses to the tune of 5-7bhp.

The fact it is a one piece item scares me. All stock K series and what I would call proper aftermarket crank pulleys are 2 or multipiece items. The stock item is actually rubber bonded, what this does is act as a dampener for shocks in the drivetrain and saves your bearings a load of abuse.

Putting a solid pulley in negates this and puts extra strain on the shells. I would get my 7bhp elsewhere.

Any more views on this thread? Ive heard the fluid ones are great. Or toda ones even better (£360 though)

any more info?

Not sure, but similar claims are elsewhere on those solid pulleys set, take have look on Subaru where several manufacturers claiming 5-7bhp increase,I've never seen any increase with running solid pulley set,but I've seen few failures of the solid pulley set(on our previous car solid billet alternator started to crack)

On K20 not sure if you will benefit with running solid crank pulley,I would say no,but fluid damper something like is ATI I would consider myself, few friends running them on their high powered cars without the single issue, second option is FluidAmpr is good too, depends on more factors, but I would probably choose ATI Super Damper

Here are links on them
