How much is it rougly to get this changed? and is it best to take it to honda for this?

My car has done 80000 i wouldnt say its to noisey but just thought i should get it done to be on the safe side or do they last a life time?

Thanks

they are supposed to last the life of the engine, some people get them changed at 100k to be safe, mine is on 140k and is running completely fine!

if it's something thats going to stick in your head making you worry then i'd say get it done

As said, the chain is supposed to last the life of the engine.

You could always get the timing checked when you are due to get the valve clearances done or just change the tensioner for peace of mind bud.

Right pulling up an old thread. didn't want to make another one.

Ive got a new timing chain and tensioner just to be on the safe side got it from tegiwa but does anyone know how much it will be to get fitted roughly and is honda dealer my best bet or is a specialist just as good but a little cheaper.

Cheers

Cheers mate. Been quoted 180 by powertek a honda specialist for £180 so think i'll go for that.
