Tow bar?

Got chatting to a mate of my cousins who I found out has a Type R.

He said he had a towbar fitted :shock: :roll:

Apart from looking totally cack I didn't think this was possible on the R?
 
It is possible but should not be fitted as it could invalidate the manufacturer warrantya nd the Insurance.

The R is made of lighter materials than the normal Civic and not designed for towing anything - not even a Jet ski.
 
Today I also saw a Black CTR with those horrible huge side protection strips :shock: some people are really trying to ruin the look!

Plus its illegal, as its not type approved for towing and has a 0 towing weight.
 
I agree with everyone here, and i know the CTR has a towing weight of 0..

But how come my ep1 says it has a towing weight of 1200kg? :? Thought it was the same chassis?

Technically its not as the EP3 is strengthened around the suspension mounts. :wink:
The most probably reason the CTR isn't type approved for towing is that Honda did submit it for approval. :wink:

ps - it doesn't have a chassis its a monocoque. :wink:

Yes you can fit a tow bar but it is illegal to tow with an EP3. End of. Fact.
