Twisting gear linkage

Have had an utter mare with my car this weekend and needed up having to take the dash out....having now put it all back together I don't seem to have gears! By that I mean that the gear lever does not engage any gears up and down. Side to side feels fine.

Is it possible in my haste that I've put the gear linkage cables on the wrong way round and now the gears don't engage properly? I didn't have time to swap them over by the time I realized so going to have to wait a few days before I can flip them across.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Finally sorted this, like a grade A turd I put the gear linkages on the wrong way round. I've swapped them back and now have gears again
