Type R ECU Immobilser Questions

Messages

Good day to you all.

I have squeezed a B18C7 Type R (Integra 2001) engine into a Mini but the ECU is immobilised. The original car ran the "Red Key" immobiliser - (is this available in the UK?) which uses an additional module fitted under the steering column. I don't have this module or the red key. I have fitted a Doctronics immo defeat chip to the ECU but still can't start the engine. I don't have a signal to the negative side of the injectors. The engine will start with Aerostart. My ECU is 37820-P73-Q01.

Can anyone help with a fix for this problem? Or - which ECUs can I swap into the car?

Any help greatly appreciated!

It might be easier to run a standalone ECU like Hondata or Haltech.

I think for the OEM you'd need the whole module the original ECU was linked to.

Honda powered mini owner here too :asw:

+1 I'd look for a hondata S300 or if you want something cheaper get a DTA.

There was a DTA for sale on the 16vminiclub. Great forum too, you'll find more help on there for that motor.
