Hello all :smt039

just thought i'd introduce myself to the forum. My names Ty & i'm 22, i am a complete newbie to the Honda world.. I have not long sold my Jdm 98 spec glanza V turbo as i fancied something much more reliable & to be honest safer. I picked up this little beauty yesterday for a barging price with a few minor body work issues.. The guy who had it before me had it for 5 years and had the car repainted in championship white. The overall paint job it's self was not all that but i didn't let this hold me back as my job is a motor body vehicle specialist (Panel beater/Sprayer) The car it's self apart from the obvious scuffs is in very good condition. i viewed a few ep3's before this 1 and this was by far the best, The car it's self has had 3 previous owners & as been very well maintained..

The spec as follows: 2004 Ep3 ctr
Full service history (73k)
HPI clear, very straight shell
Tein lowering springs
K&N typhoon intake system
Tinted rear windows

The cars pretty much stock & to be honest i'm in love with it lol.. I thought i would be disappointed with going from boost to a N/A but Vtec is awesome :lol:
My plans for now are to get it into the bodyshop and give it a full respray, focus on getting it back to its former glory minty fresh.. Ounce the cars looking up to standard i will be going down the modding route & hoping for bigger power hopefully 230+ Anyways Thanks for looking here is a few pics of the motor :)

With the car being new I set about giving it a mini service so I placed a order online with Tegiwa.. a few days later a few goodies arrived (good service)

Titan race pro S 5w-40
NGK plugs
Oem honda oil fitler





After servicing the car I set about getting new brakes as after braking heavily they didn't seam to healthy, checked my disks closely and they was warped so I purchased new brakes all around with Mintex pads







Brakes are now on the car taking it easy bedding them in.. Will upload pics shortly :)

I then set about getting the handling up to scratch so after doing a bit of research I decided to go with the Buddyclub p1 camber set & Eibach front camber bolts..





Treated the car to a Jdm tow hook as well as a set of wind deflectors. Pictures to follow shortly ounce fitted.





It was nice day on Friday so I thought i'd make the most of it an give the engine a good clean, I also removed the I-Vtec cover (will be leaving it off) Just ordered a RBC inlet & Tegiwa carbon airbox.. I am really struggling on which exhaust to go for *** :-( Could anybody help? I'm after a exhaust which is easy to live with, will give noticeable gains ounce mapped but will have a nice rasp & not to loud (chavy) really am struggling.. ?






Just got a email of FibreWorxs also parts will be here in less then 2 weeks so more goodies to follow :D

Have you got or are you getting a decat manifold ? If yes then you want something very quiet like tegiwa

Little update: Few goodies arrived from fibreworxs last week here is a few pictures :)







Going to start prep work on the above sometime over the next few days pictures to follow ounce all prep'd and ready for paint :)
 
Be interesting how you get on with the spoiler, its on my want list but people have trouble with the fit and some rattle!.
Nice jdm looks tidy :cool:

It's not a JDM mate, some spoilers rattle because they aren't meant for type r's, they're meant for si's or something along those lines as they've got two less fixing points.

Lovely selection of bits from fibreworx there, what's the quality like?

Ah I see it was sprayed! my bad didn't read that bit.
Have you had a spoiler fitted to yours or seen one fitted?
I don't want to get one and it not fit correctly.
I have seen one on a red ep3 and from a distance it looked great, only when I got close it looked shocking how it was fitted could see screws barely holding one side on paint runs all over it! not good.

The quality is ok from fibreworxs wings needed drilling and still need a fair bit of prep work.Will upload pictures tomorrow dude. As for the spoiler I sold it as a Seibon carbon fibre (mugen) popped up so i had to snatch it up to go with my carbon bonnet :) pics to follow shortly..

Cheers dude.. started prep work today on the wings managed to drill the holes and test fit etc still needs a bit more work to get it sitting flush pictures to follow shortly.
 
Few pics of today's work, finally decided to take my Ep3 of the road Not much progress really as I have been preparing the wings (drilling, filing, sanding) etc so didn't manage to get very much done as the wings turned out to be a lot bigger of a ball ache than I planned.. Any how few pics of motor looking very sorry for her self rather stripped!

Front end fairly stripped & very straight also was surprised both inner wings and the front end was very straight no signs of any damage which I was very pleased about :D





Few pictures of the wings.. Holes & squares filed, was a ball ache to get the squares the right size..







Test fitted!

Slowly but surely going to get there :) can't wait to get back to it tomorrow.. The cars staying white but not championship white it's going frozen white dude. (much brighter) not a fan of the dull championship theme.
 
Good work mate cracking looking ep3 I'm just about to buy for first jap car my self a ctr also bit nervous about making the jump from bmw but really fancy a ctr have done for a while look forward to watching your progress mate
