USA Honda Civic Si Coupe. Will it come to England ??

Messages

Hi all,

Im new to this forum.

Ive just back from the US, where one of the guys that works for me there has just purchased a new Civic Si Coupe.

All i can say is WOW, it is one sexy looking car. It has the same 197hp engine as the Type R. It also has one amazing interior with a Digital Dash that is out of this world. Even the stock sound system has 8" subwoofers.

You can check it out here >>

http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_overview.asp?ModelName=Civic+Si

Does anyone know if this model is coming to the UK ??. Because i would buy one !.
Ive emailed Honda UK from their website, but recieved no response.

Regards,
Paul Taylor.

Yeah, unfortunately, it won't be coming to the UK. This is the American/Asian body shape. It's cheap as chips as well! $21k!!

Big shame IMO. I like it. It's a 'successful' shape if you get me. I wonder if someone will bother importing one. Highly unlikely but you never know...

Thats the shape they should have based the new CTR on. LSD, K20A Engine, 4 pots, nice little body kit... job done and they'd get away with charging about £19k. They can't even use the line that it'd kill of ITR sales as thats not even a UK model, plus it co-exists with the DC5 in the states.

Honda are w4nkers on a monumental scale. I'm expecting the new CTR to be a bit of a flop.

But then thats not the closest thing to the EP3, thats a next gen honda, the closest thing to the EP3-R was the 160hp Civic Si EP3

I have to admit that it is a very nice looking car - and that spec make sit even more appealing.

I'd imagine if there was anough interest, then an importer would be able to get a model report done and start shipping them. Doubt the price would be very cheap though - probably the cost of a new CTR here

But would they not all be LHD?

Quit being so pedantic. :p

BTW, what's the new CTR model number? EPx?

I am considering importing one now.
It costs around £1100 to import a car from the US.
It would go straight through the SVA test since it has all europe type indicators etc...

PS: LHD is not an issue in the UK. Ive had 4 american cars now and currently drive a 5.7 V8 Camaro. If anything driving a LHD car in the UK is better since overtaking is easier. (While driving on country lanes you can see down the left hand side and through bends.)
