vtec kicking in later

Hi guys,
My vtec seems to be kicking in late, mine seems to be at 6000rpm when (from what I have heard) it should be around 5500-5800. My oil is all topped up so it's not due to low oil. It may be nothing and I'm just worrying other nothing but it'd be nice to check with people who know these cars, I've only had mine for a week so it's still new to me.

Your rev counter is possibly slightly inaccurate.

It will be 5,800 but the counter is over-reading.

There have been a few threads from people seeing the same.
