what filter is this?

It's the CAI (cold air induction). It's the one that fits so the filter sits down by the ns wheel arch. Loads of pics on here and Google.

its not one of the hoses you connect to the aem. its a small hard plastic thing that pushes into air box hose
any ideas?
Got it fitted not too bad in the end. just not sure if this plastic thing is necessary or not on the arm.

It will be the intake air temperature sensor. Yes it needs to be connected.
 
there is a hole that it kind of sits into in the arm but it is loose fit. Does that sound right or am i missing something?

You could email AEM or try an autofactors for a generic part and hope it fits.
