What width wheels would i need

Messages

I need a set of 17"wheels to fit 240 width tyres. (slicks before you ask!!)

Would i need to go up to 8" or wider wheels

Any suggestions on wheels, that would accomodate?

Are you going to be using these just on the fronts for 1/4 mile work or are you thinking you're going to put them on all round for track work?

All around for track work! :)

Just run semi slicks, improve your driving if you want to go faster not give the car more grip which inturn increases car stress and there fore leads to more breakages, such as oil starvation as you well know.

plus why run 240 width, just stick with 205 or 215 to avoid rubbing issues.

Using tyres that are too wide may actually slow you down.

And before you ask why, its most likely due to increased rolling resistance esp if you're using slicks the rolling resistance will be increased dramatically.
