Wheel nuts

i thought it was 80lb, I set my torque wrench to 80lb but when I tightened the wheel nuts they seemed to be making a cracking noise.
 
That's fine mate, that's either you're pulling the car as the handbrakes are pretty shocking on these, or there is some dirt on the threads. Some people tend to apply a little copper grease to the threads, but I tend not to bother.
 
I think the torque settings are a dry torque setting, i.e. threads not greased.
If you grease the threads they will actually be overtightened at 108Nm

Threads just need to be clean.

Just swapped all my wheels over and didn't c/grease any of the studs.
