Got a set from a lad breaking an ep3 , want them doing red just for looks nothing else.

Would powder coat withstand the crap of the road better then hammerite paint for example

Powder coating will be better. But a tin of hammerite is far cheaper and most people wouldn't even notice the difference.
 
Yea on mine some of the protective coating has come off so I want to refurb a set then swop them over, I'll ring the lad doing my wheels tomorrow see what he quotes
