Yokohama Parada Spec 2

When i first bought my EP3 it was fitted with PS2s, now from what i've seen on here they are pretty popular.
They weren't in great condition so never really saw the best of what they could do.
The main problem i had with them was a pretty loud drone at motorway speeds, is it normal for this tyre to make so much noise?
I had them swapped not long after to Toyo T1R Proxes which im quite happy with, but wondering whether i should revert back to the Yokohamas when i next change my tyres.

Any opinions?

Dooks likes this.

They're not the greatest tyre - especially in adverse weather conditions, but the fact a large percentage of the forum use them would suggest they're not all bad.

And the noise is normal.

I personally don't like them, nor the T1R. The PS2, IMO is pretty poor in adverse conditions however they do perform well on a warm dry day. T1R is in the same boat, ie, a mid range tyre. After having a variety of different tyres on over the years, when my current ones come to be replaced I will be buying some AD08's, Asymmetric 2's or similar, I won't skimp on the choice.

Pretty abysmal review on there in anything but dry conditions as well.

Toyo's fair a bit better:

But nothing compared to the high end tyres:

But bear in mind that the reviews on that site are user based so it's all subjective and of course there is a huge variety of cars on there.

But if you look at some of the group tests run by Evo and such like, you'll see similar results.

They get mixed opinions, I recently posted up about this specific tyre in another thread - they are great in the dry, in the wet they are OK, as long as you remember you are in an EP3 and not some kind of race car. Any car will not perform at its peak in wet conditions. So the clue there is to slow down, and here it comes "drive to the conditions of the road" You wont go wrong, I have had PS2's, never crashed, nor did it fling me off a roundabout in the wet and spin me 720 degrees at 20mph.

I also had T1R's, again I never crashed with these on either. They are both a perfectly good tyre for the EP3.

Had them on before the S-Drives I have now. No noticeable difference for me in any conditions.

Liked the PS2s in the dry though.

Had Toyo Proxies before the PS2s. They were shocking - tramlining and loads of cunting noise.

Had PS2's on both my EP3 and DC5 and they've been absolutely fine. Don't drive like a hero in the wet so their performance doesn't really concern me on that front. That being said, in normal driving conditions in the wet they are fine.

Look me in the eye, I want to see your fear.

Best tyre I've ever owned. Asymmetric 2.

Like a boss.

If I could get PS2's in my S2000 fitment I would.

I currently have FK452's, but I'll be getting F1's next.

yeah those AO50's look awesome, but i bet they cost absolutely loads! not really an option for me seems as i've had my ep3 for 10 months and already put about 20,000 miles on it :(

I had Prada Spec 2's on my old 2007 seat ibiza fr tuned to around 250bhp with 300lbs torque. Never ever had a problem with them in the dry or the rain. Driving to the conditions. Only problem I had was when it started to get too cold they wasnt all that, quite dangerous but they are summer tires. But in the snow, just leave the car at home!

Was looking at getting a set again for my ctr ep3 but can't get them in the size I want so plan to go for bridgestone potenza re070.
