Matt's JDM EP3

While I'm waiting for my car to arrive from Japan, I thought I post a few pictures.

It's a 2002 model(I think). Appears to be standard with the only mods being a Spoon drop in air filter and a Spoon street back box.

This will be 4th Type R. My first was an EK9, then a DC5 and an FN2. The car is due to arrive at the beginning of November, so I expect to have around December time.

Bet you cant wait, I really wanted that back box!
Not the easiest to get hold of used and quite expensive new

That looks great. Bet you can't wait to get your hands on it.

Cheers everyone.

I can't wait to be back in a Type R again. Only 4 weeks till it's due in at the docks in Newcastle.

Thank you, Darren. Looking forward to getting my hands on it. Just hope it doesn't need a clutch within the first 1000 miles like my last 2 type r's!
I hope everything is okay with your new car.

First time I've seen the Spoon Street backbox on a car, very nice! Bet you want the weeks to go quickly so that you can get your hands on the car.

On the 28th December, I drove to Newcastle/bhp imports to collect the civic. First impressions, the civic looked good, and I was happy. But on the drive home I began to notice some issues, the main one being the clutch. The following day I bled the clutch, there was a noticable difference but it still felt heavy and it was difficult to select gears at high rpm. The spoon backbox had also collapsed inside and was rattling. I've replaced it with an oem backbox.

Fast forward a couple of weeks:

A new Honda clutch - RPC flywheel - MTF3 - New knock sensor - New starter motor - Front engine mount insert fitted - and 6 hours labour through work.
Not what I really wanted after 500 miles.

Work that's still needed:

OSF door actuator for central locking.
Wheel alignment.
Front brake pads.
Full service.
Replace the stereo.
Spare keys to be cut.
Auxiliary belt and new idler pulley.
Replace handbrake.

Not a good start but once you get the jobs done you can start enjoying it. Mines had loads done in the first 6 months of owning but I've a solid car now that is epic to drive. Enjoy mate
