Yes would do that for the time being, these boxes are great but do seem to have their idiosyncrasies. EP3 box was funny into second, fd2 could be a bit notchty occasionally into 3rd. I occasionally can't get 1st and seem to remember reverse being the same once or twice also 4th to 5th when cold can catch sometimes.

I'd try engaging the handbrake more, it might be under strain if on and incline.

I occasionally have 1st issues but this is near always approaching a junction, I find the revs need to be quite low for 1st to be selected
Ok So I pulled the handbrake all the way up, started the car and put it into reverse. the problem still persists and locks when i try to pull it down into reverse. I had to do it 3 times before it went in. 3rd time went in.

Went for a 15 mile drive turned the car off, was on a flat surface, handbrake all the way up and it went into reverse on the 2nd try.

doing a comparison when the handbrake was fully up against being up only a few clicks, there was no difference and getting it into reverse the first time was still difficult. therefore the handbrake being part up or fully up or if the car is on an incline or flat surface the problem persists....

It's a new one for me on the FK2, I know the clutch pedal can be cheeky and needs to be basically on the floor, it caught a few out back in 2015 and caused a few lazy shifts.
I do remember an fn2 type r owner who had these issues and he fixed it by adjusting his clutch pedal.

What area are you based, maybe someone close by who could do comparisons

This is bizarre. I've just left the house to get cash put it into reverse to get out of my driveway and it slipped into reverse no problem! Not sure if the 30 mile journey I did 3 hours prior helped.

Either way this is very annoying for me.

I live in the east Midlands.

There is a garage called honda hq based in cannock. I've been advised to go there and get it checked by them as I've heard they are honda specialists.

Appreciate the posts mate, really want to get this sorted it's very annoying and a car this expensive and well equipped it's a frown on honda.

It's 21 deg c today not sure if weather plays a part...

Thanks for the reply mate. I've heard before it could be a linkage issue. Honestly have no idea where to look under the bonnet and how to identify an obstruction

Not teaching you to suck eggs, but when it won’t go into gear, have you tried lifting off the clutch slightly whilst trying to get it into gear? Just lift off until it slips into gear, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t!

What's the clutch pedal feel like, and where does the clutch catch when releasing pressure on the pedal?

whenever I've had mine not go in gear straight away it's been after start up but a quick clutch up then back down pump always sorts it
