The character limit of signatures has been increased from 60 to 100. Images are allowed, however the following rules apply:

No Animated Images.
Dimensions of image not to exceed 300 x 180 pixels.
Size not to exceed 50 kB.
Keep the image sensible.

Contravention of the above will result in the image being removed by site administration.

Update 27/04/2006

It has been noticed that some of the avatars and signatures being used are not suitable.

To that end, please keep images clean. While the majority of the userbase are adults, people as young as 13 are permitted to browse so bear that in mind when choosing your image.

Anything unsuitable will be removed without warning.

Thanks.

Some signatures seem to be creeping over the limits set by Admin. Could anyone who has a picture as there signature please check the sizes and resize if it outside these limits.

Thanks.

Neil.

Ok, guys 'n' gals.

As mentioned in the posts above there IS a limit to the size of images used in signatures. Whilst admin/mods have no issues with images in signatures (provided the content is suitable for forum viewing!) it has been noticed that a few images are a little too large. Please consider resizing overly large images to a more suitable size.

It's certanily nothing personal but admin will be looking to 'remind' people if their signatures are too large. At the end of the day we want to keep the forum as clutter-free as possible and still appeal to those who still use dial-up...

Many thanks,
Andy

Its been noted that some users are using pictures in their signatures that exceed the size limits set. Please check the rules before you add an image to your sig'.

Any images exceeding the limits will be removed by the Admin team.

Thanks.

They are creeping back.

Guys, this is happening again.

If it continues to do so I will simply remove the ability for people to have a forum signature.

I'm feeling all generous so have decided you can now have a mighty 50kb size limit on any images in your signature now. Dimensions to remain the same as before though

Some people are feeling the need to state every single modification to their car, mileage, service history, when they last cleaned it and their favourite petrol station in their signatures. This is starting to make the board look untidy, especially if you're viewing it on a mobile browser.

We have a dedicated area within the forum for members cars threads and information. Please use this to let us know what you've done to your pride and joy. By all means leave a link to your members car thread in you signature, but a whole shopping list is not necessary.
