Krzys' 2002 Nighthawk Black Track EP3 Type R - Dave

Nice. Who does the mapping at Ti?

It was Rob who did the mapping for us. Seemed to know his stuff!

Apparently, running a decat exhaust without mapping won't damage the engine as I had believed. But changing the inlet to RBC, RRC, Skunk2 etc without mapping will because there would then be too much air going in.

He said the stock ECU and map run sufficiently rich that adding bolt-ons like an airbox and exhaust manifold (plus cat back system) brings the AFR into line hence the car making 214bhp before mapping.

Looks like a 4-1 mate.

Cheers mate! Had the car for two and a half years, going halves helps a lot but still expensive, we just get stuff as and when we can. Certain things you can get away with second hand and the more important bits are always new.

Full list of mods below:
KPro ECU
Tegiwa M airbox
Clockwise motion sump baffle
Decat exhaust manifold
Spoon cat-back exhaust
Adjustable front camber bolts & rear camber arms
Stoptech BBK 4pot brakes with 330mm floating discs
'Fast road' geo
Tow straps front & rear
Unicorn farting sticker
Stripped interior
Three sets of OEM alloys (Toyo R888R, Goodyear AS2 & Uniroyal RS3)
Rear tinted windows
Awesome 'Dave' plates
Two fat Polish blokes who think they can drive

Ah I see, those 3 mods above must made all the difference

Rob did my timing chain and a load of other stuff, he does seem to know his stuff, also had my fast road set up done at TI they did a great job of that also.

Update from Cadwell last month!

Finally got the videos sorted from the track day in April, just been so busy and not had time to edit the videos but here they are along with the professional photos.

Pretty good day all in all despite an issue mid morning, the slip-join on the decat manifold came open and the exhaust dropped to the floor, oops! Managed to get it welded up and back in time for the lunch break. Didn't have anymore problems in the day other than a talking to for noise (makes 105/6db on a static test!). Bung in the back box made it sound like a jet!
