My 182 is due an annual service @ the end of Sept. She's only done about 5K since her last service, but want the maintence to be kept as it should be & clean bill of health for peace of mind.

Anyways, shes booked in with Mike & his Team @ Ren-Tech in Portsmouth for the 28th September.
I've heard not one bad report about this specialist & thats saying something considering how members on ClioSport & ClioTrophy let you know the minute something doesn't go 100%.

She's going in for a Full Service using ITG Panel filter, Silkolene Pro Race S Oil & have Eibachs Sportline springs fitted.

Gotta say I'm looking forward to having the springs done, but until they've settled in & shes been tracked I'm not going to push.

Means I get a day @ GunWharf Quay too.......I've gotta enrole Angelica in for the day out as I might wangle luncheon out of her.

I'll report back once it's all done & dusted. :smt047

 Putting an ITG in mine after pay day and then popping upto RSTuning in leeds for the remap 202Bhp here i come (actually i would settle for some torque below 5k rpm!

RSTuning is the place to go for a remap Steve ;)

Get it custom mapped though, will be spot on.
Heard great reports on these guys again mate. If I decide to get mine done it will be with these.

I'm after a good Renault specialist for mine, for the service in about 5K. I would take it to Ren-Tech too, but living on the Wirral it's a bit far... Any good Renault Specialists in the North West?

   Fook me! I used to live on Cliff Road in leeds... 10m from RSTuning and i never knew!

:lol::lol: You'd be a good detective then mate.

They've just had their Dyno Dynamic rollers installed, so the figures should be nice & accurate too.

I remember seeing you when I left JAE hoofing round that first roundabout. You went in another direction to what I was going though, when you finally left it!

Yes one in Cheshire Chris Ball (Chris69CBS) screen name on Renaultsport.co.uk and ClioTrophy.co.uk. He runs his own business.. My Clio Sport aways went to him.. You dont see him online much as like most true petrol heads, his head is always in an engine

PM me if your interest and I'll pass on his number.

She goes in tomorrow :)

Looking forward to the drive home.

How was the drive home Lee? :D

My Trophy is in for the brakes upgrade tomorrow, as well as hopefully finishing off reverting back to the standard airbox/filter. The Hillpower kit that was in there was crappily fitted and worse than the standard combo... I'll take some pics as and when (which reminds me, I need to take some pics of Salem's too... brakes that is  )

yep you're neglecting my car, she will get jealous...

Was good ta Andy, although I haven't had a chance to push on yet.
Parada's in the wet are a no go for any spirited driving. But it looks noticeably lower & feels alot more so once behind the wheel, so much so Angela even commented.

Hopefully get out this arvo in the dry & see what happens.

The panel hasn't given any massive difference, just seems keener to rev higher up the range which is no bad thing.

But Ren-Tech are fantastic imo.
Small team & garage, but so so friendly & helpful.
Mike went through everything he'd done with me & even explained the diagnostics he ran.

Will report back in due course ;)

Nice one, Lee. Look forward to hearing the report... :smt023

Salem's mechanic (and friend!) sorted out my brakes today and - wow - what a difference! Salem knew from firsthand experience of CS ownership that the brakes were fooked on the Trophy. She wasn't wrong and (even though I'm bedding in the new brakes) blinkin' 'eck I got my first taste of how good brakes can be when I smashed my head into the windscreen...  Just kidding of course but the difference is unbelievable... I couldn't have safely driven the Trophy much longer if I hadn't got the brakes changed today.

I'll post up a few pics when I can. Salem has the same setup on her CTR so I'll post pics of those, too. Sadly Rob (the mechanic) didn't have time to completely finish all the work off so the new brake lines go on next weekend all being well - and the stock airbox/filter.

I got a chance to have a decent drive yesterday & gotta say I'm mightly impressed.

Sitting in it feels very different now & feels alot better than it did.
I don't feel like I'm sitting on it now, rather in it & things feel alot closer to the ground.
With it being dry I got a chance to see how things felt & there is a marked improvement in cornering. The car doesn't roll any where near as much on turn in & now things tighten up & get better the harder you push.
Feels very similar to how the DC5 felt albeit without the LSD helping out.
The only one thing I don't like, but was also apparent with OEM springs, although now a bit worse is.....if your powering out of a corner & hit a bump mid way round the wheel will squirm a bit.

Defo worth considering if you have a Renault Sport variant.

Pics will be posted when I get a chance to clean her & fix the scuff some inconsiderate **** managed to do in the work car park & not own up :mad::mad:

Thread Revival!!!!

The 182 is going back to Ren-Tech again next Wednesday for her 3rd service with me.
Only covered less than 3000 miles again this year, but I like having the servicing done on the button.

Also the brakes are being upgraded whilst Dave there does the service.
Going for HC Brembo Discs, Ferrodo DS2500 pads, Goodridge Braided Lines & Castol Response 4.1 DOT fluid.

Haven't kept the car no where near as clean as it used to as my bikes currently live in my garage, but hopefully we'll be moving early part of new year & I should get use of a garage again if I get my way. Then I'll be giving her a PROPER going over. Wheels off for powder coat, clean arches, wash, polish, seal & wax like a mofo.
Also I'll be covering the A-pillar covers with matching Alcantara to the seats & may even consider having the roof lining done in the same material to make things nicer inside.

LOL, my mate got quoted a grand for the 5 year service, WTF! It's only done 20k..

I bet that was with Renault?
The 5 year service consists of Cambelt replacement, which means the Aux belt needs to come off so you may as well change this too along with the AUX pulleys. Where does he live? I'll think of a specialist nearby & point him in that direction.

 No sh*t. I didn't even realise you still had this car.

 I've done less than 6K in the past two years in it Chris.
