AEM V2, Typhoon K&N, Gruppe M, Apollo K&N

At the moment i have just a standard induction kit and filter probably cost around £50 all in all and am woundering which would probably be the best resonable buy?? I arn't made of money and know the gruppe M is expensive but is it that much better than the rest??

why?? what is the BHP increase on one of these things and how much do they retail at??
what is so special about the gruppe M what do they do ????

It has been done to death.. No disrespect but check out this section!!

Read the sticky threads and do a search.

ive read the fiiting instruction for a gruppe M and seems very tricky.. Has anybody had any difficultys or has it been very simple...At this stage im just temted to go for the AEM or Typhoon...

It is not that hard to fit no, AEM and Typhoon are good for noise but for gains they are as much use as tits on a fish.

Dont buy K&N they are s*it and ther customer services is worse lol ive learnt the hard way this week

does that apply to the AEM V1 as well, as I really need a power-gaining intake. (GruppeM is no option)

As you can see, the brake fluid layout is different for the EUDM EP3's, making it difficult to fit a GruppeM

Who told you that? I've never had heatsoak from my ARC. Although not sure it will fit your enginebay anyway!

Read it on some EK9 forum if I remember correctly... Those guys were saying: the aluminium box heats, and just creates hot air for the engine. And a guy claimed a dynorun only gave around 1hp gain, making it an expensive hp as ARC isn't cheapest either :)

Is this true, I wouldn't know, I never tested this myself, just gathering info...

If it doesn't fit anyway, what about J's racing intake anyone some info on that one? I just don't like the Idea spending £600+ for something nobody ever tried.
GruppeM is a worthy investement in my opinion, up to 12hp gain is worth £700+ but I never heard anything about J's racing stuff before ...

The ARC doesn't heat up for me. And even if it did, it would cool so fast being aluminium!

I've posted a dyno result ARC vs GruppeM in my trader section, ARC makes more power in the midrange :)

The J's Racing intake is absolute porn, although only a handful of people have bought them, and I dont think any have been on the dyno with it!

ITG has proven gains and is very quiet.

You read my mind :) I like it quiet...

Any dyno results?

Actually, I prefer midrange power and throttle response over peak power, any good ideas then?

Arc gives good mid range gains as I see in James' ARC vs Gruppem thread. But indeed, probably won't fit.
The J's racing gives also good gains on Honda Fit/Jazz and S2000 (up to 8hp gains) (found some positive feedback on J's intake afer googling for awhile, but rather expensive...)

The ITG Maxogen remains more or less unknown to me... Any more info on this one?

In an intake test from a few years ago, the ITG made the highest low down torque compared to the others there, and only lost out peak to the GruppeM and the AEM long ram, and that wasn't fitted properly so it's peak figures need to be taken with a pinch from that test. The ITG is a good bit of kit, doesn't cost the earth and is not far off stock noise levels.

Thanks for that info mate.

I think in my case, it will probably be the best solution anyway.

It fits left hand drive, not too expensive, and not too loud.... great
Would a RM01A, race header and ITG sound sporty, but not ear-bleeding loud?

Isn't ITG british design?

Okay after googling alot more of this ITG, only seen good replies, except for the cost, some people can't justify 400£ for some carbon box and a filter :)

Anyone any other reason why NOT go with ITG?

Power gains up to 12hp claimed by ITG themselves, so I divide that by 2 because I never believe what manufacturers say and a 6hp gain seems not too bad either :)
What I do believe, many have tested this, and all claim "feelable" increased performance and increased throttle response. Also much low-mid range torque comes available.
Very interesting as in my opinion...

I have that setup apart from the race header and I'm more than happy with it.
The thing with the ITG is that you don't really hear it at all, which works very well for me as I want to hear the exhaust rather than induction.
It does feel more torquey in the mid range, and looks great in my engine bay.
Cost wise I was lucky and found a brand new one on here for £300, it was bought but never fitted by the previous owner so I got a new ITG for second hand money.
I cannot comment on the GM as I have never had one, but bear in mind that the people on here that know the most about modding fast Hondas swear by them.

And yes ITG's are designed and manufactured in blighty.
