air filter on ep3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello all , i have just bought a ep3 and ive noticed it has an aftermarket airfilter on it ,when its ticking over there is an annoying whining noise ,been told its the air filter ,is this the culprit?(im a novice)

Yes, the filter will be making the whining sound.

Its annoying and a little embarrasing.

I have a giant Mugen one on my S2000 that makes this sound.

I like the sound, as Jordan says i get the sucky phush sound when cutting the engine. release of pressure in one of the pistons me thinks

Fuel pump is in the back, in the fuel tank.
