anyone seen this before?....exploding rear windscreen!

hi all

soo, about 20 mins ago i was taking some stickers off my rear windscreen on my ep3, i was doing this using an ice scraper, using very little pressure on the rear windscreen.
i had completed the removal of the stickers, then went to wash my rear screen down to get rid of the bits of stickers, then BOOM rear windscreen exploded.

my rear heated windcreen was not switched on or anything, the keys wearnt even in the ignition!

the windscreen has exploded outwards as well!

anyone seen this happen before or know what would cause it? something thermal im guessing,

waiting on the windcreen company to get back to me at the moment.... a £75 excess to pay is not what i need right now, as i bought a house this past weekend and have a load of stuff to pay for!

Did you use hot water? Could have been thermal shock.

Maybe it was effected when it became de-wipered & had to let go eventually.

No stickers!

But yeah, I have never seen that before.

Maybe you closed the boot on that huge box and weakened the glass.

That huge box has a carbon bonnet in it

I certainly did no slamming onto that

Mine must of been due to the different temperatures,
Warm on the inside, cold on the outside!
Must of caused it to bend slightly and then just shatter!

sometimes it can be an electrical fault. elements overheating with a surge.
the heated rear is a toughened peice of glass. there would be no way the glass
smashed due to tempretures.

anyone seen this before?....exploding rear windscreen!
