Spooner Restorations in the traders section. He does them by exchange by post and a proper finish, not powder coated

Powder coating works by passing a current through the metal so the paint bonds to it before being cured. This can affect the structure of the item being coated, but crucially on a cam cover, paint gets in threads and holes that you don't want it to.

Spooner is a spray outfit using high temp paints and can produce a plethora of different finishes.

You can put a resin (or bluetac) in the threads and holes, which just peels out. But as Loxy says, Powder Coating isn't particularly suited to high temps, as it cures at less than 200 degrees, spray painting with suitable paint is the way forward for cam covers.

Spooner does a cracking job, and has created some very good work.

Another vote here for Spooner. He's putting out some amazing work lately. The finish on my mates DC5 cover was like glass.

Spooner is amazing, he did mine, but a properly powdercoated cam cover is a more durable finish than paint.

John Whitemans in Long Eaton can do this for you.
