Car Mats

When I got my car I treated it to some new mats. These were just the standard EP3 Type-R mats not the fancy red ones.

My thinking behind this was I'm going to keep the car a couple of years so they would still look pretty good when I sell the car and I would have two years of new mats.

Now about a year later and the drivers side mat is getting thread bare on the heal. I think give it 6 months it will wear straight through.

I don't really want to spend another £50 on low quality Honda mats so I'm thinking about my options.

I can't afford the JDM ones and I don't want to buy the cheesy looking copies off eBay so what other options do I have?

I've seen these at a reasonable price but do like the original look of the Type-R mats.

Or these if anyone knows if the Type-R logo can be taken off easily?

Or what other options can people suggest?

Mini have done exactly the same over roughly the same period of time. I was thinking of cutting a square out and getting my mate, who refurbishes furnature, to stitch in a rubber heel plate thingymabob. Pipe dreams currently.

Or

Buy some cheap mats from halfrauds, put your honda ones in when you sell or go to meets or whatever. Or just put a matt over your current matt.

I don't know anyone who could add an extra piece so it would probably cost the same as a cheap set of mats to do.

I think I might just get a cheap black set off ebay and keep the originals for when I sell the car.

I've sent the ebay seller a message to se if they can do the red ones without the badge and red trim. If they will I might get those.

I wouldn't buy those red ones as they look quite cheesey and very off colour once in the car. Plus they get very dirty.

Maybe make do with your current ones, and replace with those £20 black ones for the sale ?

I was hoping they wouldn't look so day glow in the flesh?

Wait till the sale sounds like the plan then.

Yeah the ones that I have seen do look really bright, almost orangey. :(

JDM FTW if you can, but it's a lot for mats
