Right then, it's been a while.. I lost my phone with all the decent pictures on of installation of the gauge.
So it's just pictures of it done I'm afraid.
So I set about getting the gauge in, first thing was to remove the plastic trim with heater dials on..
Which just pulls off.
I then unscrewed the swivel bit out of it.
And hack sawed away the screw points so the gauge would sit further forward.
Lucky for me the gauge was a nice snug fit into the old vent. So a blob of silicone on the back just to make sure it stays there.
I routed all my cables through this Bung on the bulk head
Power and switch for light dimming I took from the stereo.
Boost pressure I took from here( pipe to BOV)
Now if you've read the part when installing the turbo and can remember,
I left a "t" piece with a Bung in it ready for when I got a gauge
So I removed the Bung and tried to fit the oil temp sensor. And dam it didn't fit! The actual sender was too long for it.
So I now need to find a way to fit this some where...
Instead I fitted the oil pressure sensor in there
I'm thinking maybe one of them sump plugs where you can screw a 1/8th fitting into it?
And that's that job done!
So far it seems to do the job well.
Only down side is, when I'm at 8k+rpm and not on throttle, and it drops below -1 bar it starts going mad and flickering! But not often that happens.
Then when the lights are on, the gauge goes a orange colour. Fits in well with everything
Got my self a oil catch can, easy enough to fit.
Breathers from the rocker cover and crankcase going into it.
Home made bracket to mount it.
And move the air filter a little. Anddddd she's in
A friend of a friend asked me if he could grabs some photos of my car.
Of course I said yeah!
He's into his fords so said it was nice to see something different and not run of the mill..
All questions and comments welcome!
