Decided to have the DC5 machine polished this weekend as i felt i had got as much shine out of the car as possible by hand, i have a friend who is now starting to set up his own detailing business (http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Detailed/134072499985876) and well i will let the photo's speak for themselves. Comments welcome :D

He really has done an awsome job and i would definately reccommend Ash to anyone, hope the new business venture takes off for him :D

Done by Ash - Y7 ADW? ;)

Fellow Racing Blue Clio 182 member off Cliosport. :D

He's done a cracking job.
Nice motor fella.

Stunning Teg mate.

I have really small sort of yellow bits stuck on the back bumper mainly almost like tiny tiny spots of rust, but it's not under the paint, it's definatly on it and i can't seem to get them off, anyone got any tips for removing them? Clay bar maybe? Tardis doesn't get it off.

You might need some cQuartz IronX.
It is a fall out remover for iron based surface deposits.

It breaks down the bond between the iron particle and the paint surface and bleeds purple - a dead giveaway as to whether it is rust spots from industrial fallout, brake dust etc.

A quick clay afterwards and then polish and wax back up to nice shiny protected finish.

Yes mate, he has done an awsome job, he's a good lad and his 182 in *MINT*

Sweet.
I've got this weekend free to machine polish my RB182 with the porter cable dual action and 3m rotary polishers.
Awesome difference compared to hand polishing.

Been using the machines for about 5 yr now.
I never worry about buying a second hand car with swirls. A days detailing gets them back to showroom condition :D

Love your DC5 mate.

Yer it really is amazing the results you can get from machine polishing i was really impressed!!! so have you got a honda as well as a 182 then? 8)

Some of those photos are excellent. Car looks really nice, amazing how a set of wheels totaly transforms the look.

Only thing I will say is it looks like a final finishing polishing could of been used as there looks like there's evidence of abrasion marks left by a coarse polish in this pic?

What polish was used out of interest? I've always found Megs 83 followed up with a glaze like Poorboys Blackhole or White Diamond works really well on Honda paint.

This was a picture before it had been machine polished, just to show what the paintwork was like but forgot to take a picture like that after it had been done.

Yes mate, I have a Racing Blue Clio 182 Cup '05 and a satin silver Civic Type R '05.

Though the mrs uses the Clio as her daily driver and Type R is more or less a weekend toy.
Taken out for a drive, washed, put away....repeat until dead lol.

Full Honda Service History and the 'R' is on 53000 miles and it feels [and looks] like its straight out the showroom.

Thanks JMR. Stuff looks great after a quick google, ill give it a try.

Beware it smells awful.
Really will make you want to puke.

Good stuff though, just keep the bottle and your hands away from your nose Grov. ;)
