Dc5 spoon n1

Could anyone tell me if a spoon b pipe will be too loud for every day driving. I already have the n1 back box fitted but it's not made a great difference in sound? Any suggestions please!Cheers

I noticed the n1 doesnt make a huge difference, except from a cold start it seems a bit mental.

Tell you what I'm fitting my Spoon B-pipe and N1 saturday ;)

I will take a video of it in action and upload it. (hopefully my phone can handle the sound)

That's some reassuring news Jermal.

Lets see how louder she will get when I mate a Tegiwa manifold to the Spoon

Do you have an induction kit on yours?

the spoon N1 back box and b-pipe sound almost stock inside the car, but there enough sound to remind you that you have an after market exhaust fitted to the car!! on the outside things are completely different..... LOUD NOISE"S!!!! about 107-110db. i ran a gruppe M, spoon manifold, spoon cat back and K-pro on my JDM EP3 and cabin noise wasnt that bad. could still here the gruppe M over the exhaust no matter what Rev range.

Quick update, I fitted my Spoon N1 and B-pipe today and I can honestly say the sound Is perfect, loud when you give it some and not bad inside the car at all, will get a tad louder when It beds in but I have no problem at all with It..... very very happy and worth every penny.

Also had a nice spin up to the Black Mountain to christen her earlier.......lovely :)

thanks mate, put mine on at the weekend and really pleased with it. like you said, definately worth the money

Glad to hear it mate, love mine however Iv'e developed a vibrating rattle noise, It's not a heatshield type rattle, It sounds more like a metal on plastic, only happens at high revs letting off the gas........ puzzled, Im thinking its the standard mani but It sounds like It's coming from the back of the car so don't know, had a quick look underneath and it looks good....... somethings wrong somewher though :(

I know what the problem is pal because mine did the exact same thing. Where the rubber fits to the steel bracket on body of car, there is an extra bit of steel (like a little lug), and the arm which is welded to your backbox just touches it. It's best if you get your car on a ramp and you'll easily see it then. I took mine to my mates garage and using oxy/propane he burned it off (bout 10mm). Not rattled sinceHope you can understand my explanation and can get it sorted :)

Mafmaz your an absolute star mate and I hope your right, I will take my car to work friday, get it on the pit and find the culprit, so before you removed that piece yours would make a noise only when you let off the gas in like 4th 5th 6th gear, (ton plus) like a mad vibrating sound

Yes mate as soon as I let off the gas especially higher up the rev range, it made a right bad vibrating sound. My mate burned off about half of the lug but still could hear the noise. Not as bad but it was still there so we decided to take the lot off and I havent heard it since. Hope you get it sorted pal :)

brilliant job, sounds like the problem I have dude, I'll do as you say and burn the bast#rd off.

Have you thought about a manifold to go with your spoon mate???

Yes mate and a spoon decat too. I know their expensive but want the full spoon system so saving up as we speak for both. What colour is yours and any other mods?

yeah know what you mean, that's what I wanted to do (full spoon) but heared the 4-2 spoon mani vibrates and rattles like crazy so put me off tbh but the sound of the full spoon Is pure porn!!! I think I'm going to go for the tegiwa mani, meant to be good.

White Dc5 with red recaros, itg maxogen induction, spoon cat back, tegiwa short shifter (that needs to be fiitted) and lowering springs - can't make out the brand they are, the jap owner before me put them on (k1000 racing or something)
