Door speaker question.

Do I need to get a surround/mount to fit after market speakers? I've seen some around on eBay but I wasn't sure whether it was definitely needed or not!? I just need a simple yes or no from one of you helpful lot!

Yes.

There are plastic mounts available to fit 5.25" speakers.

I personally have gone for a 6.5" speaker - this sounds better. The 5.25" lack bass.
