Drivers seat tilt knob broken Vs MOT

Messages

Morning all. Just a quick one regarding my Recaro premier edition seats and the seat tilt knob, the drivers side outer lever is snapped so I just use the inner lever as the seats have them on both side but iv just had a thought if it would be a problem on the MOT?

I'd of thought no means of tilting forwards might be a problem but because I have the lever on the inner seat side will it be ok?

Might just be me over thinking it.

Cheers.

Well you can have fixed seats with no tilt at all and pass an MOT. Your seat still functions safely as you have said, so no issue.

Brilliant thanks I wasn't sure if having back seats meant you had to have a means of access via a tilt seat in case of accidents ect.

My first car was a 3 door escort. The cables had snapped in both front seats, they could only be moved forward by moving the catch underneath with your finger.

Went through MOT fine every time. (This was in late nineties early 2000's though... I know there's been a few more pathetic and silly little rules added into the test since then....)
