Engine bay clean

I'm thinking of degreasing my engine bay this afternoon and was wondering if someone could kindly post a pic up showing me where I need to cover up. I'm going to be using chemical guys orange degreaser and meguiars all purpose cleaner, then jet off using pressure washer. Will this be ok? Or shall I use just an open end hose to wash off product? Or not atempt any of this at all? Lol

I was also planning on removing engine cover before degreasing aswell.

If you're gonna use a hose/pressure washer I would suggest that you ensure that ALL electrical items, connectors and wiring are seriously protected with PTFE tape!

I know it's probably too late for this, but you really don't need a pressure washer to clean your engine bay. If you have a decent degreaser, that should do all the hard work, then just rinse it off with a hose with a washer/sprinkler attachment.

here is a kind of write up as to how I did mine. Ignore the first bit as it is to do with a leaky boot.

great guide mate very compprehensive! Will give it a go this weekend, Ive got an annoying bit of peeling on my rocker cover though, have you any ideas on how to get this looking brand new again

from personal experience i wouldn't use a pressure washer.

some decent degreaser left for a few minutes then rubbed down and sprayed lightly with a normal hose spray will do it.

then buff off the standing water / gunk to a clean shine.
