Anyone know anywhere in Herts or Beds that will do it? I take it any old formula 1 garage wont do it???

Also i had a quick browse, is this the correct FRS for a CTR?

1 degree negative camber on all 4 wheels
1 degree toe out on front wheels

Thanks :)

Would also be interested if theres anywhere in beds/herts/bucks as tgm is near 2hours away :(.,, But if theres really no where closer thats good then will have to travel

2 hours is nothing, its really worth the trip

Two hours is nout for a good technician working on your car, wish there was someone with such good feedback near to me, two hours to airport from me and I would rather have frsu than two weeks in Maldives

Does anyone know if the settings he put in the first post are the correct ones though?

As theres a place locally who specialise in geometry and suspension and would save me a huge drive to some of the main places like ABP & TDI etc.

It is if theres a closer alternative lol with one day off every 2 weeks a 4hour round trip is quite alot but if theres no alternative then itll have to be :D

Out of interst how much does the fast road set up normally cost?

Bit off topic but what do tgm do are they like a type r specialist, i,e do they do mapping etc as there doesnt seem to be a list etc of what they do just stacks of positive feedback which is good just for a newbie like me i havent clue what services they offer?

They don't get involved in the mapping side of things, but anything else they can pretty much do from putting a new set of rubber on, to rebuilding an engine/gearbox to full race preparation:cool:

Anybody had a fast road setup from TGM?

If so any good? Decent price?

Thanks Dan

but has anyone got a rough idea of how much a fast road set up costs as no point ringing as not looking to get it done for a month or so but want a rough idea on what i need to save as intend on getting some springs or coilovers and a fast road set up at the same time? and also what the price includes i.e are camber adjusters needed/supplied etc

Thanks Mike

tdi south are at thurrock by lakeside. they advertise themselves as a supercar sanctuary and do everything as far as i know.

They do lots of stuff buddy. It's a garage specializing in Honda type R covering everything from a basic service to race prepping your CTR but to be fair they do other cars too there's always pleanty of car porn down there. As for mapping Im not sure they cover this but Artech are just up the road and they seem to get good reviews.

Hope this helps, what are you looking to get done?

tbh i was thinking of spending around £1k on the car in feb (should have money by then) and from various things ive read i was thinking fast road set up would be one of the most beneficial mods to do early on but put a post up on civic type r oc and everyone seems to recomend with £1k to spend i should look at k100/kpro first so bit unsure now lol. Think ill wack a post up here and see what people on this side of the fence reckon :D

Springs and fast road set up needs to be done first IMO.

£1k is not enough to get yourself sorted with Kpro, and all the trimmings.

Depending on what you want, I would sugest a manifold, decent exhaust (catback) Spoon, Fuji, Toda and also a decent filter such as a Gruppe M, ITG, maybe an RBC inlet manifold then factor in the Kpro (£600-700) and mapping time. and you are at around the £2k figure.

I had a Gruppe M, Fujitsubo RM01A RBC inlet and Toda header and I made 247BHP at TDI north when tuned.

The best thing to do is to buy the parts and hoard them ready for a fitting and mapping session all in a oner to save getting the car mapped once and then having to get it remapped as you add different parts.

Of course you can get Kpro and get it mapped with just an exhaust and air filter but that is pointless imo, to get the real benefits you need a race header (manifold) on there.

With £1k I would get springs, camber arms/bolts and fast road set up at TGM (£500 all in) and use the other £500 to sniff out some of the things I have mentioned above.

You could always get some braided brake lines while you are there too :D
