Well maybe i wont drive like a loon, and Type R is not that fast... it has no real torque and you have to rev the nuts out of it to go anywhere so i think it's nothing too crazy for a first car.

torque is irrelevant unless you are towing weight or climbing big steep hills.

On the cosmic grey one if you look at the last pics is the driver seat dirty or is it just the picture quality?

I had a Milano red one its a nice colour but fade is an issue, now have a cosmic grey one

Meant no disrespect with my first post... just I know what I was like at 18 lol lucky for me I only had a mk2 escort 1.1 complete with rusty arches and more go in a beechams but I still loved it !!

My first car was a mk2 escort 1.1 too . Mine was the base popular model which did'nt even get a passenger side wing mirror ha. Oh and it was white,when white was'nt in fashion!

Sounds just like mine apart from the colour.. mine was navy blue mixed with rust... haha 2 tone !! it did 85mph with windows down and 90 with them up lmao

Wow 90! I only ever got 85mph out of mine.
i undersealed a semi circle around the rear wheel arches to hide the rust.... Looked epic :lol:
It was reliable though,full choke and started first time every time. Fond memories.

ep3 as a first car! wow I wish I could of.
I got a whack when I started looking at 106 gti's
I settled for a 1.1 106 which flew!
then a 1.4 fiesta zetec
then everyone went mental when I came home with a bmw 318is drifter at 19
then fiesta zs with racing puma engine and I got away with that
and now my ctr.
but it is for sale atm.

they are a really good car and good to drive, but having just passed and out with mates I think if I had a ctr when I passed I wouldn't be here today, plus all the hassle from police thinking you don't have insurance or its stolen.
I got pulled all the time in my bmw, all they asked was is this your car??
got fed up with it
