First Car: EP3 CTR

Hey Guys!!! I should be getting my licenses tomorrow and i have always wanted an EP3 Type R, well now is my chance, my dad said okay we'll get one. Now please dont call me some spoiled kid or anything if you want to say something nasty then just keep it to yourself please. Also the insurance rules are a little bit different here in Estonia. I heard in UK the EP3 is Group 17 insurance which means for a first car insurance will be 17k £ a year? My best mate just got an 2.5 E36 which is also a very nice ride and it pulls hard but i still want a Honda. There are only three facelift EP3's for sale here but i like the cheapest one the most because it's Cosmic Grey which is very good looking, the only downside is that it doesn't have the original EP3 wheels and the ones it has right now dont look too good but it's okay. If you look at the last picture there are 2 lights on the dials what do they show? Problably handbrake light and something else? Hopefully not engine light? Description says car maintained properly, new exedy clutch, new energy battery and uses 10W60? I've heard good and bad things about using 10W60 on the EP3, some say it's too thick and bad for winter?

There is another one too: http://eng.auto24.ee/used/1465071 Yeah it has alot of stickers on it but owner says they are all easily removed, this car also uses 10W60, but what i like about this one is that it already has a loud exhaust (( :D )) and a screen inside. So what are your opinions?
 
Type r for a first car? oh dear..... I would have killed myself in a ctr when I had first passed as I drove like a loon !
 
Well maybe i wont drive like a loon, and Type R is not that fast... it has no real torque and you have to rev the nuts out of it to go anywhere so i think it's nothing too crazy for a first car.
 
Don't underestimate how easy/quick a Type R can build up the revs. It's not the car people are worried about! lol

Congratulations on passing your test, wish my first car was a CTR! I had to stick with a 1.4 Ford Escort 'Encore' that was so basic it didn't even have an rev counter! :( Couldn't listen to music in the car for the 1st few weeks as I had to listen to when I had the clutch as I couldn't feel the bite :lol::lol::lol:
 
Well i read somewhere that the we'll run out of oil in about 10 years anyway so why not get something quick as a first car so i could atleast enjoy it for a little while, well maybe the oil itself wont fully run out but it can't be used for automotive things anymore. Or it will just be a luxury for the rich, petrol costs a ton already either way. I really hope what i said is not true but im still worried, Everybody should just get a Tesla or a Volkswagen XL1 so car guys could drive loud sport cars...

My uncle had an Escort Cosworth that was pretty badass but i was so little when he had it so i dont really remember anything about it and i wasn't into cars that time.
 
For wanting one you picked a few flaws easily.
It may not be the fastest car in the world but for a first car its ludacris, saying that your very lucky to have that option as every new driver here would love a car such as a ctr as a first car.

The two chosen are'nt to my taste but each to their own but the grey one looked better imo.
I dont think there was any offence meant with what was said it was mearly a new driver with a 200 bhp car could equal disaster for either him/her or worse other drivers.
 
It could be worse. There are at least 5 lads on the GTRoc all 21 and UNDER who now own R35 GTR's..

thsts the best excuse for getting an expensive car I've ever heard!! There won't be an oil shortage in our lifetime buddy, enjoy the car though if you do get one!

Well that means you are reckless and dont obey the traffic rules and go over the speed limit, you can drive slow in any car, my driving school car is a 2012 1.6 Mondeo, it is so unbelieveably boring to drive and it is slow, But i can drive as slow as that in a CTR if i want to.

That's the problem. At 18 with a CTR... you won't want to!! :p

We are all only jealous that we didn't have a CTR at 18. Use the rear folding seats and big boot to your advantage while it lasts ;)
 
It would be rude not to use a CTR to it's full advantage while you have it, i.e. before your friends start earning enough money to buy nicer cars ;) haha

Hah, you are a cool guy! Hey is the Milano Red really that bad? Is that really what it looks like? The colour is so eye catching it looks dope!
 
Red cars really only go pink if they aren't looked after properly, and even once they do start to fade you can always get them polished back to newarly as good as OEM, or even a respray? I wouldn't worry about it if red is what you want, have red.
 
R as a first car?! :)) good on you mate!!! Hope you have fun with it!
My first car was a lovely Fiat 127 and what a great car that was. Really fun to drive!
 
I had a Milano red one its a nice colour but fade is an issue, now have a cosmic grey one :)

Meant no disrespect with my first post... just I know what I was like at 18 lol lucky for me I only had a mk2 escort 1.1 complete with rusty arches and more go in a beechams but I still loved it !!
 
Yeah im going for the Cosmic Grey one... drove a car all on my own for the first time in my life today, oh god i loved it, cars are a very expensive hobby but damn driving is so much fun for me no matter how slow im going or what car im driving, the car was a Volvo XC90 2.4 D5 :D
