FK2 FK2 Exhaust tailpipes cleaning

Mine have gone a dark charcoal sooty colour.

How do you go about cleaning them up?

Soap and water won't cut it.

I always used fine grade wire wool and Autosol or similar.

Is Autosol basically the same as Brasso?

No, brasso is finer grade IIRC. Autosol is around £5 a tube, splash out!

Job complete. 16,000 miles of previous owner exhaust soot. Gone in 45 minutes. Autosol works a treat.

Never got on with Autosol personally, use Kleers metal polish, it's what I used on my Mugen rear on the FN2. The 45m you say it took was my main issue! Kleers requires way less effort.

I got my car fully SiRamiK ceramic coated (5yr protection) & its money well spent, but the above for £19 is a bargain 2 coats on alloys Will stop brake dust be worth getting 2 bottles
