Thought it might be entertaining throwing up a thread dedicated to my hideously inefficient family beater.
When we were looking at emigrating down here we were set on shipping our old car, 2005 Discovery 3 HSE, but when push came to shove it just wasn't worth spending £6000 to ship a £10-12k car.
So sold up and went shopping once we landed, ended up with a 1998/9 can't be sure/care which Nissan Patrol GU with a TB45 engine. All for the princely sum of $10k (£6k at the time)
It had at the time a 2inch suspension lift, 1inch body lift, Cooper ST tyres (285's) and a pair of Hella spotties.
Looked like so:
Shortly after purchase, a poor person robbed the spotties from outside the hospital my wife was working in. At 2am.
None the less, life continued.
Gave it a oil change, or rather actually put oil in the damn thing.. my bad..
First order of the day was to fit a roof rack/awning as we are now 6 there isn't a vast amount of internal storage for trips away. And a new aerial for the UHF radio.
First trip out onto the beach for a BBQ:
Then packed up for a trip down Margeret River:
Was a good trip:
Finally time to order some replacement tyres, 35 inch. Or rather 315/75/16:
That's all for now, I have purchased some more paint to sort the wheels/weights then it's off to Dwellingup and Captain Fawcett trail on Sunday for 100+km of mud and car smashing.
And more wondrous fuel economy:
