Getting a little more ground clearence

Hi everyone I have searched the forums and google to see if I could find anything on increasing the ground clearence of a type r ep3 but can't find anything so was wondering if you all could help. I have the pipercat back fitted by CPL but its very close to the ground so just need some ideas on how to raise the car to avoid speed bumps as the car touches them even at 1mph thanks.

If it's a completely stock car, you should have no issues. If it's on lowering springs, then you could go back to OEM ones. If it's coilovers, then raise them up. Or you could get the exhaust modified, simply bending the hangers to raise the exhaust would work. 10 minute job that you could do on the driveway. :D

NYA thanks for your reply my car is stock suspension but the london speed bumps are still getting to me I have booked the car in for thursday with Tdi plc so hopefully they can help Ill update once they have taken a look.

No worries bud. Possibly modding the hangers is an option then. ;)

Tyre sidewall height can also make a diference. Changing from the standard 45 aspect ratio to a 40 loses nearly half an inch in clearance.

You could get a sump guard if thats your worry

Or move out of London (many, many benefits there!)

This ^^ After going back to 45s from 40s my car never scrapes.... Thats if you have 40s on now of course. If you have and you have standard suspension then you are kind stuck with the wrong car for London... Buy and SUV like everyone else ;)

Thanks for all the responses everyone got back from Tdi plc little while ago they did manage to adjust the downpipe and have increased the ground clearence by an inch so everything is golden on that end, but I will need to give them a call tommorrow because they spent around 3 hours doing geometry but the car still pulls a lot to the left and right it does it randomly but I can feel it a lot more at low speeds not sure what is causing it I have put on new engine mounts, ball joints, shock absorbers, tracking and balancing just anything that might get rid of the issue but nothing has worked not sure what to do any ideas would help thank you.

Will update once I see them again

If you've added spigot-rings/spacers to your wheels then you've likely affected scrub-radius which would cause/add-to torque-steer. Sufficiently different camber might have some effect there too.
