Nice move switching Skoda RS for CTR.
I have bad feeling about Skodas. TBH I really don't like them generally. It is used much as a company car in Slovakia, but everytime person gets this car, it gains a feeling that Skoda means ,,permit to drive like complete lunatic". For example: One morning, I was at 6 a.m. on our highway. It has been snowing during the night, so I kept safe speed of 50-60 kph (30-38mph). The only thing that overtook me in 10 cm (4in) of snow was one russian lorry and 6 Skoda Octavias with logos on the side. They were going around 75mph.
Next thing that bothers me is owners. In our country, they stick vRS logo on every piece. Doesn't matter if it is 1.9SDi or 1.2HTP (which is in my top 5 of worst engines, I've ever tried).
That is not all folks. You should have heard chat of Skoda owners. Some of their statements:
,,My Octavia 1.9TDI, originally 90HP, chipped to 1000000HP is better and handles better than your ATR!"
,,My Fabia HTP with whopping 47kW can do almost 120mph uphill."
,,My Octavia RS TFSI does 50MPG doing 120mph!"
,,Octavia is best car for that price!" - this one is tricky, because you can buy Mondeo with better equipment and comparable engine for that price
,,I cannot put chidren on a back seat of my Octavia 1, but I have bigger boot than everything else."
,,TDI PD runs nicer than your HDI."
,,My Superb is just scaled down A8!"
,,If your car doesn't have xenon lights it is not worth anything. I put my xenons on myself!" - yeah with no washers and height control.
Unfortunately, if you meet geniuine RS owner, he will try to race you on every lights you come across. Honour to the exceptions.
So this is the reason, why I am saying that moving to CTR is very, very good step. And I have not started speech about handling and refinement.
P.S.: This is just my opinion, it may not be right, but I won't change it easily.
