HID - 35w vs 55w

Hi all,

Looking at getting some 6000k HIDs for my facelift ep3 and can't decide whether to go for 35 or 55w.

A mate of mine has 35w and they don't seem very bright to me but I'm a bit worried about going for 55w in case they are too bright and blind people. Also does the extra heat they produce cause problems with melting things.

Can anyone vouch that 55w HIDs are ok to run?

55 can cause staining on the light clusters.

Aren't 55w also illegal as dipped beam? I'm sure when I looked into them, I was told they could be used off road, but not on, and with the way the Po Po are cracking down on stuff lately, you can guarantee you'll get pulled for that.

I have used 35w HID's on my EP3 for around 8-9 years and they give out more than enough light tbh. 55w one's will be too hot for the projector lens and will mess them up imho.

35w is what you'll need, go for below 5000k, above 5000k will too blue
