Hks hi power silencer removal

Hi guys, I have an ep3 with a hks hi power exhaust system with de cat. I've been reading a couple of forums and some people are saying if you remove the middle silencer, it frees up quite a bit of power. Is this true? And if I was to do this do you reckon it would sound to raspy?

If you remove the silencer you will certainly get a big increase in noise.

In regards to it increaseing power, I suppose it would possibly increase the flow of gases but it wont be anything dramatic enough to go shouting about.

If I were you I'd not bother.

If you want more power from your exhaust system get a header/manifold.
