Honda owner again

Bargain of the year surely:D Looks great Rick, like you say, will look lovely with some nice red (Milano??) rims on it, will really stand out.;)

I was thinking Red spokes with the polished brake hub and 2 x brand new alloy rims, as a few mates have these I was thinking of taking the **** with a few black widow stickers

Well my Honda Chaly CF70 is about done, the insurance cost me £112 fully comp with no no-claims as car and bike insurance is different. I just need to mot the bike but need a new voltage rectifier as the battery is not charging due to mine being faulty. I plan to change the rear shocks and get the handle bars re-chromed at a later date otherwise thats it. I did change the chain and sprockets from a 14/35 to a 17/35 and now the bike cruises a lot better.

I have really gone to town with the attention to detail as in my opinion this is what make my Chaly look a lot better than others and have even bought original Genuine Honda frame stickers and rear light unit at £80 as the replica unit was very poor quality.

Have to say i'm not a massive bike fan but if u ever want to sell it let me no. :)

Thanks, I never intend on this bike going out in the rain, I might get caught out but it will soon clean up. Sorry to say I never have plans to sell the bike again I am not a bike fan but I will admit I love this and have wanted one for a few years now and the bonus with this one is its the same age as me:eek:

That looks like a very good job, not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate a job well done and it does look smart.

:)

Looks great Rick, like it should have when it came out the factory, congrats on all the hard work mate ;)

Thanks guys, The CF70 has now passed the MOT(1st time) and I have changed the rear shocks for these on the advice of MBUK http://www.monkeybike.co.uk/acatalog/Kitaco_330mm_Hydraulic_Shock_Absorbers___Chrome.html, now I think I might paint the wheel hubs red and buy some alloy rims http://www.monkeybike.co.uk/acatalog/G-Craft_10_x_2.75_Wheel_for_Dax.html

What do you think this will look like?

I also fancy a race cam http://www.monkeybike.co.uk/acatalog/Honda_Quick_Road_Camshaft_for_70cc_Early_Head.html

Well I have now finished my latest cosmetic updates, this includes having the hubs sprayed red with alloy wheels, Genuine Honda mirrors and grips and kitaco rear shocks. I plan to do a full engine and gearbox rebuild sometime over the summer otherwise this want change now apart from the new Magneto I have to fit in the gearbox, here are the latest pictures

Did I get this right with the red hubs or did I go to far?

Fitted a new carb that is not restrictive like the standard / original carb, plus side was this little chicken chaser now does 45mph very easily and will even did 55mph. down side is that the all the time I have had the bike it has always breathed heavy due to bore wear but with the extra power / fuel the piston rings are now blown so the engine will get its rebuild around 4 months earlier than I planned.

On strip down I have found the engine seized to due oil starvation caused by blocked oil filter (you have to take the gearbox to bits to check this). I have now ordered a 300% oil pump, alloy 85cc barrel and 85cc piston, new oil filter (this last the life of the engine) and fitted an high ratio gear box drive.

I am hoping that my Chaly is up and running and should be good for around 60mph, I wont be doing 60mph but would hope the gear ratio and increased engine size gives the bike good pull and allows a mid rev cruise at 40-45mph if not I will have to fit a smaller rear sprocket.

This is the parts I have ordered

I ordered with cmsnl in the end as all their other parts they make / sell by Rising Sun have always been of a very good quality with no complaints, I could have used monkeybikeuk but they are very expensive and TBH I think they have you over a barrel due to their knowledge on what fits what bike etc, I just cross reference the Honda parts to find the bore and stroke length to know which barrel and piston to buy. http://www.monkeybike.co.uk/acatalog...e-up_Kits.html
