whats the best way to make the v tek louder on my ctr ??
heard some realy loud ctr mine is standard just now so im starting with he exhaust been told to keep the cat in for back pressure??? and and induction kit would like a realy deep roar so any help guys

'vtec' :)

depends on how much you want to spend, for no gains but awesome sound. k&n typhoon.

no, i didn't know they existed until i joined TRO, the price to gains ratio puts me off a bit.

I have a typhoon that i robbed of my mates CTR hours before he chopped it in :) and never thought of upgrading.

music to my ears but no difference under foot.

EDIT; i'm refering to gruppe M's BTW :)

I put a AEM v2 induction on mine and got a really nice sound out of the Vtec. But IMO the Gruppe M is really expensive for the gains you get out of it, unless your going to get the full set up of a fancy new header and what not done to it. how much are the Gruppe m's? about £600? the AEM v2 cost me about £150.

The GM sounds fapping awesome. I followed Leooo through the Dartford tunnel and almost creamed when he floored it. Although I haven't really heard any other intake in person.

My old CTR with a Gruppe M and spoon cat-back :D

Take the air filter off it gives realy loud v teck. you could also try drilling a few holes in the exchaust.

Just a Spoon N1 Back box exhaust will give a good sound.

Add the Spoon B-pipe to the exhaust, get this:

If you just want noise, K&N Typhoon kit to replace standard airbox, but you will lose power over standard as it sucks in hot air from inside the engine bay. When on an open road not a problem, but stuck in traffic and you will feel it:

Gruppe M induction system which gives great gains etc:

Unless you are going to get the engine remapped with Kpro or K100, putting a De-cat will usually turn the engine management light on. Plus the engine will run super lean and so not make any gains over stock that you would expect.

A de-cat needs proper mapping to get anything out of it, but when you do they give good gains.

It wont run super lean, but you're right in the sense that it won't make any difference to power.

Even when mapped they don't make much power at all, it's all about the full race header.

Keep the cat and get some type of rear box and a intake, it sounds amazing even before vtec :)

If you want a good Vtec crossover dude.. it's all about the induction kit, my bro put a AEM on his DC5 Teg and the transformation was immense!
