If i don't have a car do i lose my no claims?

i've built up my no claims to almost 5 years now. if i sell my car but dont get another car straight away will i lose my no claims bonus? how does it work?

one of the insurers should clarifiy, i believe you have 1 or 2 years grace when you can be uninsured and maintain your NCB.

Think went about 8 months once, just had to put it in writing that I hadn't held car insurance since I cancelled my last policy.

Admiral gave me 2 years and they sent me a letter after to confirm.

I think you can retain your NCB for 2 years as standard.

You lose NCB if it is not used after a 2 year period.
