Jack's EP3

Messages
21
Been around here for a while now, so thought i'd say hello and stick a write up of my 03 EP3.

Picked up the car a couple of months back. Part ex'd my Subaru in for it, due to lack of funds, and moving out, The car had to go.

Luckily I picked up this beauty and I've enjoyed it ever since!

Yes I know the wheels need to go, but they work... so i'm just working with them for the moment.

P.s. I know they look like milky way chocolate stars lol.

So bits that need to be done / have been done...

Induction Kit - CAI etc. Possible hondata airbox mod. Depends on money!
Aftermarket Centre pipe for exhaust.
Original wheels back on and sprayed / plasti dipped.
HID kit
New cat-back exhaust system / Back box.
Mugen front lip and sprayed silver.
Toss between bonnet bra / Carbon wrapped bonnet (can't afford real carbon).
Tow hook - Waiting to be fitted.
Mugen spoiler
Skunk2 gear knob with a red gaiter
Skunk2 70mm throttle body (reading a bit into this, performance gains etc, whether its worthit).
Yellow fogs on the front (inside the bumper)
Type-r Stickers for brake calipers.
New brake pads at some point soon.

Already done -
Led replacement bulbs for sidelights & number plate lights.
2400 Watt subwoofer installed in the boot.
H4 uprated, brighter, headlight bulbs.
Team heko wind deflectors.
Brake calipers painted red.
Mugen pedals.

Those wheels... I've seen them online, but think they look really nice. Big fan of your work so far

Thanks dude, many more pics to come :)

If you want to trade these wheels for OEM ones let me know! I think these retail at like £600 brand new, but I much prefer the OEM alloys.

So Today I managed to find five minutes to fit the rear tow hook.

Very easy to do, I used two sockets on 19mm bolts. One to hold the bolt and one to tighten the nut.

Tow hook was purchased from "kode performance" down in sheerness in kent.

They managed to do me a nice deal on the pedals and the tow hook If i didn't pay through ebay, so saved myself postage and about 3 quid on the final price... Every little helps!

Anyway here are the pictures and hopefully the pics will help anyone else trying to install one, but it's pretty straight forward.

Nice touch. The Kode stuff is proper good quality, I've got their fender washers and they are really nice and a good price too.

Thanks dude.

I agree! the pedals I thought they were just going to be some replica but they're legit as far as I am aware.

I'll have to take a look at them! Judging by the quality of the parts I've received plus all the next day delivery, I can deffo vouch for them.

Hmm now what to do next!

Well i'm halfway through the airbox mod, as I almost broke my friends dremel (wasn't connected properly in the end lmao). So that's almost done, just waiting for the induction pipe to arrive so I can remove the OEM one, so will update with some more pics then.

Carbon wrapped petrol cap arrived today (i'm lazy)

and some pics of yesterday working on the airbox.

Well after work today, I took 5 minutes out to fit the carbon wrapped petrol cap. I'm lazy. I'm not wrapping my own just yet....

Just need to take one 8mm nut off, which seems to hold a clip like thing down against the petrol cap, i'm guessing for extra tension ??

behind that there is a 10mm nut and another 10mm bolt above this. Take the actual petrol cap off and you can get in here with a socket. the 8mm was removed with a screwdriver socket, easily done at an angle.

Well here's the results anyway, looks wicked.

Old one being taken off.

New one in.

Cars looking good mate! Get on eBay you can pick up the caliper stickers for £3 delivered! Really effective :)

I know I know. I'm still looking at them, i'm mainly looking at performance currently but I do want some caliper stickers too :)

Well another update.

I stayed late after work today to finish off the hondata airbox mod.

Not really too much to report on it. Induction noise I can hear now, but not really too sure on the throttle response. + Ishouldn't really be allowed near power tools

I'm hoping with the custom induction pipe going in that should be here tomorrow on thursday it will make a tiny bit of difference to performance.

Heres some pics!

Just finished it off needed sanding with the dremel to get rid of the rough edges.

And after a clean and the sand down.
