Had about 5 different people in trying to diagnose it....Everyone is stumped.

There's no dash in it FFS, shouldn't be anything to rattle!!
 
Yep. It's a harsh "crack/click" sound rather than a rattle TBH. Only happens when the chassis flexes somewhat.

Think i used to get this when pulling off the drive in my ep3 , seems to be windscreen movement ?
 
May be a poor spot weld creaking. had this on my EP2 when i first bought it was still in warranty at the time. took to honda, spent a week on it and found a poor spot weld in the o/s/r fixed it and noise was gone. i've had this happen to jags and land rovers at work too.
 
I'll swap you my rattles for yours. :lol: Seriously though, have you checked that it isn't the seatbelt clasps hitting the centre console, the sound can move surprisingly far forward.
 
Also thinking it could be suspension related; resonating through the cabin.

Upper balljoints worn maybe.... hmmm!
