Loxy's silver FN2 GT - J's Braces

Aye no worries, they are here.

The bolts that you've sent are 52mm at best measurement without any chamfer at the head. The OEM bolts according to Lings are 36mm but obviously have the chamfer which means they don't pass through the spacer which reduces the usable thread.

They do look like they'll do the trick. I'll update on Saturday. :smt023

Nice

Braces are on along with two new Eagle Asymmetric 2s on the back.

Picture update later, probably this evening when I get on a pc.

Just about to pop my old brakes, exhaust manifold and boxes up in the loft.

Part worn Falkens will be going on Civinfo because I think I've more chance of selling 18s on there.

I'm also nipping over to Grinspeed around 2pm for a chin wag with Stevie.

Busy day!

So, fitted the other two braces today.

Easy job really.

Old one on the bottom, proper one on the top. Happy days!

You taking a camera to Spa John? If so any chance to can take a little video or pic as if the camera was bolted to the rear brace above the rear head rest? I Am trying to sort something out for my car and would be interesting what the view would be from that location looking forward.

I also found the purchase invoice for the car tonight. I actually bought it for a grand less than I thought I had.

That also means I've now spent more on the mods than I did on the actual car.

I am bud, but I wouldn't have anything to mount it there. Other than gaffer tape that is.

Nice little update John, that thing must be stiff as porn star with all that bracing:lol:

Cheers!

I've not had chance to give it much stick in the twisties but there is a fair bit of difference on turn in, which has also meant it can be a bit lively on bumpy roads. Still nowhere near as fidgety as the OEM suspension though!

You can go mad on bracing. There are under braces front and rear, fender braces and one that goes right across the middle of the boot from the top of the suspension towers but I think I've done enough. I don't want to make it too twitchy!

Can you take a pic or very short hand held video with the camera you use for recording your track days from that position though? I am trying to get a perspective on what a video from that location would look like (and whether it is a suitable place to mount a camera).

John, forget this request I have another idea which I'm going to look at.;)

I have actually noticed that the car doesnt actually feel quite as planted round the bends without the braces. I find I can feel more body roll.

Aye I didn't want to say it felt more planted but it was what I was thinking. I'll find out for sure in the morning. :)
