MilanoChris' Evo IX

Do the laps time out at all? If so just keep them, I don't intend on doing many, just want to go again for the experience and to take Kirsty over. But we all know that will change when I get there.

I've often fancied tuition tbh. Will definitely look the week after next and get something booked.

Yeah man, they expire December 31st.

The Ring is just a death track now. Like something out of Mad Max or Waterworld, but on roads.

600hp caged race cars hot lapping, WTF.

They should set limits on what cars are allowed on on Touristfarfehenfegefeg days.

I know it sounds Cliché, but after going last year I definitely noticed a huge difference since when I went a few times in 2006 or whenever it was. It used to be a small group of petrol heads, nice cafe, good times on track with the occasional mental car going round. Last year it was just insane, cars everywhere, 911's everywhere, car park full, local places full, holiday park houses next to the track near enough. Much more commercialised. I would have loved to have experience what it was like 10-20 years ago or so, I bet it used to be very special.

After all the crash videos Dotty posts on Facebook, I think I'd be terrified of the Ring

A bit of an update. The previous owner put around 20k motorway miles on the car so the front end wasn't particularly brilliant. Coupled with getting a load of grit thrown up at the car from roadworks a few months ago I wanted to get the front end resprayed. In addition to this the laquer on the rear spoiler blade needed sorting as did the mesh on the front bumper and finally I wanted the headlights 'de-tangoed'. Before I went on holiday I dropped the car off to TGM to have the work done. They put in some orange bulbs and I have some silvertec's ready to go in, but it doesn't look an easy job, I'll give it a go when the wather's a bit nicer.

I am very happy with the result. :)

Since getting the Focus and I'm no longer taking the Evo to work the MPG has dropped by around 5, tank before last was 19 and the latest 21.

So, yeah. Bit of a 'mare. The car has had a crappy Halfords amp fitted when I bought it. I grabbed an Audison from Drew and thanks to a work meeting on Tuesday in Wiltshire I ended up with half the day off. So I took the car for a drive around as it hadn't moved for a few days and when I got home I decided to fit the new amp. While I was pratting about with the sound I had it running off the battery for around 30 minutes at most, which should be no issues at all. Finished off and left it at that.

Meanwhile Kirsty's Civic has failed its MOT so it is off the road for a few days while we wait for the repairs. Not too much of an issue, we are both insured on all three cars, so the plan was to let her use the Focus and I take the Evo to work for a few days. However, the Focus being a FOAD, has a noisy wheel bearing and a mate is coming round shortly to fit a new one. Kirsty was off to Cheltenham to meet some friends so she was to use the Evo. She asked me to move it off the drive as it's a little tight and she's paranoid about bumping it, jumped in, went to start it, dead as a dodo. :( The battery that's fitted doesn't look any good so I went to Halfords and bought one that fits the car, except I got it back and the lugs are too big. So I went back with the old battery to compare and get yet another but the lugs are the other way around and the loom won't fit. Incidentally the old one tested at 45A, max rating is 265A so it's proper fooked. Now comes the task of ordering a new one and Kirsty will have to take the train for the time being.

TL;DR, battery is knackered, not easy finding another.

Isn't it the same battery as mine? The micra battery.
Halfords only do 2 batteries with the small connectors I think. One is too big and the little micra battery fits perfectly.

I bought my 054 at the end of last year. EVO owners will be buggered now then if they've stopped selling them
:)

Never had too much problem getting a battery for the other Evo?
MLR has all the answers

You should of bought an Alfa, less trouble.
