I then added the wind deflectors.

I then fitted the Gruppe M and other engine bling that I had left over from my DC5 sale.

Gruppe M
SFS intake hose
Spoon carbon plug cover
Mugen socks
Buddyclub oil cap
Spoon radiator cap
Dc sports battery tie bar.

The scuttle is a one off, it is not the carbon scoop but instead a fibreglass one.

This one infact ;)

Here's the how to guide

Used the gruppeM scoop as a cast.

A)
Cover the scoop with cling film on outside / top.
Spread a thin layer of fibre glass on the cling film, press flat and smooth with a second piece of film a leave to dry. This is not the final piece it is a slightly oversized template which will be molded into in the inside.

B)
Once dry seperate the new fg piece and attach it temporarily to the panel with some v tiny screws. cover the inside of the newly attached piece with more cling film, ensure that the film only covers the inside of what would have been the carbon firbe scoop area.

C)
Spread fibre glass across the back of the panel where the GruppeM box meets the scuttle up into the scoop mold which should be covered with cling film. Make sure this is thin and even.
Because the temporary mold was taken from the outside, and you are now spreading on it's inside, the resulting scoop will be the same size as the supplied carbon scoop. This whole process may take several layers, dont worry about the front edge of the scoop too much, remember that you can always cut it away.

D)
When dry remove the temporary mold and the cling film, finish with body filler, wet and dry and paint with Halfrauds Matt Black.

It seems to be a lot more agressive in Vtec than my DC5 was with its Gruppe M, I am not a fan of buddyclub exhausts but currently on the car is a BC prospec and this combined with the Gruppe M makes a right racket :)

Update 6th Sept 08

Another little update for you :)

I went to TGM today with the intention of getting my exhaust fitted, surprisingly they were not to busy so I asked if I could get my JDM ARB and Carbing tie bar done too :)

Before

New Spoon going on :D

Kenny prepares to remove my rear UKDM ARB, always a nervous situation as the rear drop links are prone to rusting and then require changing after@£40 each.

Luckily I got away with it!

I thought I would start another thread since my last one got erased with the forum problem we had :D

I need to collect the JDM ARB and Carbing tie bar off storry still, it is getting the time to do it!!

It was dotty, I was in my dads car.

Was just past J25, heading towards the M1. Maybe on your way to TGM?

I need a set of those Silver-tecs too!

Car is looking good Stu, looks like the long lost twin brother of T1 CTR:twisted:

Coming along nicely Stu. I'm sure I will be able to see it in the flesh as it were, one day.
