My Milano EP3

Painted my alternator this weekend.

Bumper off (2nd time since I've owned the car ):

Parts cleaned in the garden:

Plus gave behind the headlight a clean:

All rubbed down then masked up for paint:

Then felt needed some black:

Looking better:

Whilst the paint was drying and the headlight was off, cleaned some more hard to reach places :):

All back together:

Pleased with a few hours work. Next on list is rocker cover, aux belt and pulleys.

Cleaning kit arrived for the ITG Maxogen this week, so made a start last night.

Filter looked a little dirty:

So stripped it down to start to remove old dirt and old, then clean and re-oil:

Few bolts and filter was out the housing:

Previous owner just got back from track day...is this a leaf from the Nurburgring?! :)

Sprayed the filter with the cleaner and rinsed off with some warm water:

Mucky!:

Starting to look better:

So left the filter to dry and moved onto cleaning up the housing:

Washed out the inside and rinsed, washed and polished the outer. Mmmm shiny carbon!:

Whilst I had time for the filter to dry I gave the bolts a tidy up:

Before:

One done:

Plus cleaned the outlet pipe:

Left the filter indoors overnight:

Will re-oil tonight and hopefully fit over the weekend.

Cheers guys.

Fitted the ITG at the weekend, will update with pics later.

First impressions seem very good, no sure if placebo effect, but mid range seems a bit better and sound not to loud at all, more bassy if anything.

Had a busy bank holiday weekend, but managed to fit in a bit of car time :D

Took the rocker cover off:

New one ready to fit:

Got the valve guides checked and adjusted, 1,2 and 3 where all out a bit:

Wheel off so we could turn the engine:

New gaskets plus Honda sealant:

Also fitted the new Aux belt and pulleys (to help with my OCD have ordered up some new bolts for them both today! )

Old:

New:

Back together, sounding and looking much better:

Then yesterday fitted the ITG. Rude not to clean the gearbox whilst air box off!:

ITG and air feed fitted:

Picked up some more parts for Honda Gatwick:

Old:

New:

New PCV breather pipe:

New nuts for the pulleys:

Fitted, bottom adjuster pulley took an AGE ***! When we replaced the pulley at the weekend had been lucky that the nut behind it stayed in place. Not this time ***, 10.30pm at night, drop the nut falls out! Agggh.

Ended up with, bumper off, headlight out, wheel off, jacked car up, under tray off. At last was able to see the nut just above AC.

Old:

Sprayed c-clips:

New:

Also de-wipered the rear at the weekend:

Thanks Jake!:

Bung is a little on the large side. Might see if can get hold of a glass one from: www.gecleant.de as had on my previous cars.

Painted the engine mount this weekend:

Before:

During:

After:

Much better, few more bits to clean/paint under the bonnet then nearly there I think.

Also did the Hondata mod and 80mm induction pipe to the air box I had. Happy with the ITG but wanted to see how I go on with this, plus keeps the engine bay more OEM.

So broke out the grinder and opened and smoothed the box up:

Old restrictive air intake:

Better larger pipe I ordered:

Airbox before:

During:

After:

Feed this intake behind the front panel/bumper and direct to the grill:

All done:

First impressions seem positive, not any louder than stock on idle or threw the rev range. Seems to pick up a little better ***.

I like that you are making everything look new again, I think you have inspired me to tidy up some bits that I would probably have ignored like the AC piping.

I cant stand it when people go OTT and spray everything in sight in red or similar.
But OEM FTW.

Even just spraying the rusty clips is a really effective way of tidying the engine bay

Keep up the good work, look forward to more updates / ideas

Cheers mate, my wife does say to me, very nice but who sees under the bonnet?! Ha ha

Nearly there, few more bits to tidy but getting there. Like the OEM look also.
