no vtec

There are two sensors, one goes more often than the other though I cannot remember which one.

I believe that it's the primary first down from the manifold, and then the secondary, and it's the secondary that usually fails. I may be wrong though.
 
If it was another sensor failure, it would bring up another code too.

So lemme get this straight, you've replaced the primary O2 sensor, vtec works again, but you're still getting the same fault code?
 
You know the lambda sensors control the AF ratio right?

These engines are very sensitive to the O2 sensors used.

Oem only. Aftermarket versions fail prematurely. Spend the money and buy an original Honda part.
 
If its been working fine up til recently, I'd probably disregard the ecu. Personally speaking.

They hardly go wrong and maps don't just lose calibration.
