Oil Temp Gauge - Seen mixed answers....

Morning All,

wanting to install an oil temp gauge in my ep3.
What exactly is need for this install? do i just need a oil temp sender? or is a sandwich plate between the oil filter required?

If anyone has a detailed explanation it would be much appreciated.

thanks.
Alex

Oil Temp/Oil Pressure are two of the easier ones to do.

Get the kit with the sender, gauge, wiring etc. And also a sandwich plate. When you do an oil change, you have the perfect opportunity to put in the sandwich plate, make sure you scrub up the front and back of the plate slightly with some sandpaper, just to ensure a good fit. Fit the adaptor for the plate and put it in place, then put back your oil filter. Simples. The senders go in the ports you want to use, then just run the associated wiring through Bung Holes in the firewall and put the gauges where you want them. You'll need to find a live and ignition for the gauges if you want them to have the lighting functions etc. You can use ones from ignition barrel, just use Scotch Locks to tap into the wiring, you'll find a decent guide from YouTube helps with this.

Hope this helps ;)
